In 1939, Fats Waller redorded a set of traditional negro spiritual pieces in a disc called « Fine Arabian Stuff », alternating between piano and organ. In this disc full of masterpieces, there two piano solos…. Which are transcribed in this book. The second piece, Intermezzo, a slow and melancholic blues, is the only composition of the pianist in the session. (cf. Swaltzing with Faust).
